Sardinia Sicily Italy – Mike Bendall

TRAVELS TO SARDINIA/SICILY/ITALY  26 MAY 2015.

24-05.  First stop Benicassim, Bonterra Park,  ACSI  Site. We have been to this site many times, has a good restaurant, and pool.  Opposite the entrance is a Mercadona supermarket. N 40d 03’ 25’’    E 0d 4’ 28’’ Here we met up with friends that were to share the rest of the holiday. And an excellent evening in the site restaurant.

25-05.  On to Barcelona for the Ferry to Sardinia. Grimaldi Lines. N 41d   E 2d Exit 21   Signs to the Ferry Terminal, coming from the west are poor. Where we sat and watched an unbelievable amount of heavy trucks loading over a two and a half hours. We were the last to load. You really need a cabin on this crossing. Sleeping in the Commodore Class lounge is not very restful. We would not travel like this again without a cabin.

26-05. Embarked at Port Torres, Sardinia at 11-00 and headed North to Valledoria. Camping La Foce  N 40d 56’ 01’’   E 08d 49’01’’  ACSI Very nice site, all info in ACSI  book.  Supermarket on camp and close by, important as 12 hr crossing on ferry left Refrigerator off. Good Restaurant.

 2 July 2015 –  Home.

See ACSI book for more information on the sites. Some of the roads, especially in Sardinia are very poor with pot holes. The shock absorbers and tyres take a hammering. GPS mapping in the South West of Italy is very unreliable.
