Camperpark La Ribera. 13th to 17th January.

11 vans attended of which 4 were from the UK and one was with us for a taster rally. The UK members were  Melanie Ward from East Mids group, Terry Sweeney and Lynda RT from S&W Wales, Sally Millane from North West and Joan and Arthur Giles from  East Mids.

The hosts were Lou and John Hanson with Tony and Doreen Mills as Co hosts.

The rally started at 3pm on Monday with the meet and greet, in the absence of our chairman and vice chairman it was opened by Mac Morris our rally officer. The hosts and co-hosts provided an excellent buffet which as usual was accompanied by lots of wine and beer. We sat out in the sun catching up on news as this was the first rally since November. We also spent time getting to know our visitors from the UK, some of which had joined us at previous rallies. We had to call it a day at 7pm and it was getting dark and quite chilly

On Tuesday a group walked down to the seafront, the sun was shining so we decided to stop at a chiringuito (wooded snack bar) on the sea front for coffees and a rest before we made our way back to the vans. We then spent the afternoon sitting it the sun chatting and listening to music. In the evening we had a quiz and raffle in the Camperpark Bar, the quiz was won by Mack and Maggie Morris, Melanie Ward and John Hanson

Wednesday was a busy day as it was the 2nd anniversary of the Camperpark and they had organised a day of activities. These started in the morning with a session of Zumba which some members took part in. Following Zumba the park had the final of a petanque competition which had been running all week, some members watched but had arrived too late to take part. At lunch time giant paellas were served at the extravagant cost of 2 Euros, huge portions accompanied by a beer or a wine. In the evening there was live music in the bar where many of us got up to dance. All in all an exhausting day

On Thursday morning some members took the dogs for a walk down to the seafront again and visited a different Chiringuito for snacks and a coffee. In the afternoon we had a rally meal sat in the sunshine on the terrace of the campsite bar. Great food and excellent service. Early evening we sat round the hosts van, chatting, listening to music and being entertained by Terry Sweeney

All too soon it was Friday and time to leave. We had a coffee morning and prize giving, we had had a van picture quiz which was very challenging, it was won by our 2 Welsh visitors Terry Sweeney and Lynda Radford Collins. Well done you two.
